The Lomita Housing Authority oversees the management and administration of the City-owned, 78 unit, gated senior housing community, Lomita Manor, located at 24925 Walnut Street, just south of Lomita Boulevard.  The Housing Authority’s key objective is to continue to oversee regulatory compliance through a consistent and effective relationship with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the funding and regulatory agency. In addition, a paramount concern is to maintain clear communication with the management company under contract for the operation of Lomita Manor.

Senior Housing

Lomita Manor (Owned and operated by the Housing Authority of the City of Lomita). 

Currently the waiting list is closed and we are not accepting applications.
When the waiting list is open, the application process for Lomita Manor is as follows: 

You must be 62 years of age or over at the time of application. If you have a permanent disability, you must provide documentation of this disability, and may also apply for a unit in Lomita Manor. Lomita Manor is a Public Housing program, regulated and subsidized through HUD. Therefore, all applicants must provide the requested documentation and financial information to prove eligibility, in accordance to the HUD guidelines and the Housing Authority’s Admissions and Continued Occupancy Policy (ACOP). 

Applicants may call the following number to request status on the waiting list or an application for housing when the waiting list is open, and when necessary requested information is provided by the applicant, the applicant’s contact information may be placed on the existing waiting list.

Requests for applications must be made by telephone, and should NOT not be made in person, or visit the secure, gated community seeking application information. 

Waiting List

Once placed on the existing waiting list, an application will be mailed to the applicant within 180 days (6 months), requesting and requiring the applicant provide information and documentation to prove eligibility. 

Incomplete applications from any applicant will result in removal from the waiting list.

Section 8 Housing Assistance 

The Housing Authority of the City of Lomita does not administer any Section 8, Housing Choice Vouchers. For any and all Section 8, Housing Choice Voucher related questions and applications, you must contact the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles (HACoLA) directly.
