In order to vote in the November 6, 2018 General Municipal Election, you must be registered to vote by October 22, 2018. Voter registration forms may be obtained at Lomita City Hall, 24300 Narbonne Avenue.

The City of Lomita General Municipal Elections are held in November in even-numbered years. The City Council is composed of five Council Members elected at large. The Mayor is selected by other members of the City Council for a term of one year.  Council Members serve for staggered terms of four years. Currently, the Mayor and Council Members receive a salary of $390 a month.

Eligibility and Candidacy

The next General Municipal Election will be held on November 6, 2018, to be consolidated with the County of Los Angeles General Election. There are three elective offices up for election.

Voter Registration

Voters qualify for registration by being a U.S. citizen, aged 18 years or older, a resident of Lomita, and neither in prison nor on parole for a felony conviction. Re-registration is required if you have moved since you last registered, changed your name, or changed your political party affiliation.

The registration deadline is 15 days before an election. Voter Registration forms are available in the City of Lomita Clerk's Office, Los Angeles Register/Recorder Offices and most public buildings including Department of Motor Vehicles Offices, Post Offices, etc. 

You may register in person by visiting one of the Los Angeles County Registrar's Offices and mail a completed registration form.  You may also register to vote online at the California Secretary of State's website.
