What You SHould Know Before You Build A New Fence Or Wall

THE CITY OF LOMITA REQUIRES A PLOT PLAN, SHOWING THE PROPOSED FENCE OR WALL, TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE PLANNING DEPARTMENT FOR APPROVAL BEFORE BEGINNING WORK.

Interior Lot

Fences/walls constructed along the rear or side property lines of an interior lot must not exceed six (6) feet in height, except within the front yard setback area where such walls/fences must not exceed forty-two (42) inches in height (3 1/2 feet)

Corner Lot

Fences/walls constructed along the rear or side property lines of a corner lot (Lot A in example above) must not exceed six (6) feet in height, except when a driveway on an adjoining lot (Lot B above) is adjacent to the rear wall/fence of Lot A, such wall/fence must be cut back to a 45 degree angle on Lot A. Up to a forty-two (42) inch wall/fence is permitted within the front yard setback area of any lot.
