Filming Permit Process

When submitting a Film Permit application, please make sure that it is accompanied by all requested documents as stated on the application. The application will be reviewed by the Community Services Director, and depending on the size and overall demand that the production may require, the City will provide the applicant with a list of requirements that must be met in order for a film permit to be issued. This may include having Sheriff or Fire personnel present, surveying affected residents and/or businesses for approval, posting of parking signs, etc.  If a survey is required, the City will determine the survey area. The applicant is required to obtain signatures from the residents/businesses in the survey area.  Once all requirements have been met, the City may approve the application, provide an agreement with the Terms & Conditions, issue the film permit, and will request the necessary fees at that time.

Currently, the film permit application fee is $150, and the business license fee is $83 per day.  Business license fees are collected on filming days as well as set-up and tear down days.  Additional fees may also be imposed by the City for the posting of signs, and for clean-up of the filming site, if necessary. To ensure that there is adequate time for both parties to meet the requested requirements, the Community Services Department would appreciate that applications are submitted at least two weeks prior to the date of production.
