Handyworker, Rebate, and Grant
Handyworker Program
Direct assistance with minor home repairs and improvements
is available to low income, elderly and/or handicapped,
owner occupied households. Labor for the program is provided
by paid city workers, materials not to exceed $1,000
per applicant per program year.
Rebate Program
Assistance will be provided to low and low/moderate
income, owner-occupied households. Applicants can receive
a one time per program year 50% cash rebate for home
repairs and improvements ($7,000 for standard single-family
homes; $5,000 for mobile homes)
Grant Program
Direct assistance of a one time grant per program year
will be provided to owner occupied households for home
repairs and improvements ($7,000 for standard single-family
homes; $5,000 for mobile homes). Outside the Community
Development Commission (CDC) approved slum/blight target
area the grants will be available to very low income
applicants. Inside the CDC approved slum/blight target
area grants will be available to extremely low, very
low and low income applicants.

The preceding chart is based on permanent members living
in a household, combining everyone's gross income
figures for the year. Example: a family of four must
earn under $41,700 to qualify for a rebate.
