  4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL
  5. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  6. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
  7. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

  8. CONSENT AGENDA
  9. All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

    1. Approval of Demands – $386,051.91
    2. Motion to Waive Further Reading.
    3. Report recommending award of bid for City Council Chambers ADA upgrade. AWARD BID TO FASANO ENTERPRISES FOR $99,801.
    4. Report submitting resolution appointing Michaelyn Jones as City Attorney. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
    5. Report recommending that letters be sent to legislators urging the State not to divert revenues to local government. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

    PUBLIC HEARINGS

  10. AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE
  11. Public hearing on proposed ordinance adding Article 35 to Title XI to the Municipal Code to provide a procedure for requesting reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities. Presented to Comm Dev Drtc Kawasaki.

    SCHEDULED MATTERS

  12. PROPOSALS FROM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
  13. Presentation of a marketing proposal for a business directory from Chamber of Commerce as presented by Chamber President Scott Gobble.

    Request from Chamber of Commerce for a holiday exemption for businesses relative to the sign ordinance.

  14. NARBONNE AVENUE STOP SIGNS
  15. Report from Traffic Safety Commission relative to installation of stop signs in the downtown area. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

  16. CABLE TV FRANCHISE
  17. Report recommending that the cable operator be allowed to recover the portion of the franchise fee calculation not currently collected from its customers. Presented by Finance Director Gilbert.

  18. REPRESENTATION TO ORGANIZATIONS

Discussion and appointment of City Council representatives to various organizations.

CLOSED SESSION

Conference with legal counsel – Initiation of Litigation – 1 case per G C Section 54956.9(c).

Conference with labor negotiator: City Administrator: all positions per G C Section 54957.

Conference with legal counsel: Anticipated litigation per G C Section 54956.9 (2) cases.
