    2. Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Sam’s Club for award of $500 environmental grant to the City to benefit youth activities.

    Presentation of State of the City Address by Mayor Blackwood.

    3. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

    4. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.
  4. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.
  1. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of June 18, July 2, July 16 (2)
  2. Approval of Demands – $745,283.02
  3. Motion to Waive Further Reading.
  4. Report submitting resolution of intention to grant an oil pipeline franchise to Pacific Pipeline, LLC, and setting a hearing on October 1st to consider objections. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  5. Report submitting bids for the lease of water pumping rights for 2001-02 fiscal year. AWARD OF BID TO CITIES OF MANHATTAN BEACH, INGLEWOOD AND CAL WATER SERVICE COMPANY FOR A TOTAL BID OF $101,445.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

  1. TENTATIVE TRACT NO 53494

    2. Public hearing on a request to construct 7 two story detached residential units at 26029 Oak Street in Zone RVD-2500. Presented by Comm Dev Drtc Kawasaki.

    SCHEDULED MATTERS

  2. LAND CONVEYANCE

Request from Councilmember Traina that discussion take place on an amendment to HR 2586 which would donate 5.4 acres adjacent to Western Avenue to the City for recreational purposes.
