    3. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

    4. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.
  4. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.
  1. Approval of Minutes: Minutes of May 14 and June 4
  2. Approval of Demands – $768,493.80
  3. Motion to Waive Further Reading.
  4. Report recommending an increase in hourly rate from $60 to $70 for Public Works Coordinator. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  5. Report submitting request from Railroad Museum Board for Golden Spike Day on October 27, 2001, between 10-4. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  6. Report submitting amendment to employment agreement with Ray Griest extending services to August 27, 2001. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  7. Report recommending approval of street plans dealing with encroachment into city’s right of way for construction of a community center with gymnasium and child care center at Harbor Hills. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
  1. CONGESTION MANAGEMENT PLAN

    2. Public hearing on a resolution finding the city in conformance with the Congestion Management Program and adopting the CMP Report in accordance with Government Code Section 65089. Presented by Comm Dev Drtr Kawasaki.

    SCHEDULED MATTERS
  2. STATUS OF DIVERSION IMPROVEMENTS

    3. Presentation of status report from representatives of CALMET on diversion improvements resulting from exclusive franchise agreements.

  3. REQUEST FROM HARBOR CHURCH

    4. Report from Parks Commission dealing with request from Harbor Church to use Lomita Park. Presented by Parks Director Blount.

  4. IMPROVEMENT OF 256TH STREET

    5. Discussion and review of options for the construction of 256th Street as it relates to street trees. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

     

     

  5. LOMITA FAIR

Report requesting waiver of fees for St. Margaret Mary Lomita Fair scheduled for September 7-9th. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

CLOSED SESSION

Real property negotiators: City Administrator pursuant to G C Section 54956.8 - Mee Bee Cee Corporation re: 24329 Narbonne Avenue. Subject: price and terms.

Initiation of litigation conference with legal counsel – 1 case, request to join amicus Rubin v City of Burbank per G C Section 54956.9(c).

Conference with labor negotiator: City Administrator: all positions per G C Section 54957.6.
