Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to John Yoon, Youth Member of the ad hoc Tree Committee.

3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL

The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  1. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

    2. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.
  2. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

 

a. Approval of Minutes: April 30
  1. Approval of Demands – $173,182.05
  2. Motion to Waive Further Reading
  3. Second reading and adoption of Ordinance No. 639 which amends Titles V and VI of the Municipal Code relative to collection and recycling of Solid Waste and Recycling and authorizing the furnishing of such services pursuant to franchise, permit or license. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS
  1. APPEAL OF CONDITION 5 OF SITE PLAN NO. 931

    2. Report submitting an appeal of Condition 5 of Site Plan 931. Condition 5 prohibits the applicant from converting a commercially used building to a dwelling unit at 2339 Pacific Coast Highway in zone C-R. Presented by Community Development Director Kawasaki.

    3. Report presenting action plan and resolution on energy conservation "Watt’s going on, California". Presented by Interim City Administrator Griest.

  3. CIRCUS VARGUS

Request by Harbor City-Lomita Kiwanis to sponsor Circus Vargus on July 9 – 11 at Fleming Middle School. Presented by Asst. City Administrator Irwin.

Public employee appointment – title: City Administrator pursuant to G C Section 54957.
