    Presentation by Food Finders relating to grant application regarding diversion of edible food to the needy.

  4. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
  6. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

  7. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

 

  1. Approval of Minutes: December 4 and December 18(2)
  2. Approval of Demands – $653,756.89
  3. Motion to Waive Further Reading
  4. Second reading and adoption of Ordinance No 636 deleting commercial meat cutting plants in Zone M-C. RECOMMEND ADOPTION.
  5. Report submitting recommendation from Community Development Advisory Board to adopt proposed FY 2001-02 CDBG projects. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  6. Report recommending that workshop for ADA Council Chambers be scheduled for 6 PM March 5th. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  7. Report submitting recommendation from Traffic Safety Commission to change parking restrictions at Fleming Middle School. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  8. Report recommending call for bids for acquisition of parking enforcement vehicle. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  9. Report submitting resolution establishing a compensation plan for employees for the second half of FY 2000-01. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

  1. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT CASE NO 199
  2. Continued public hearing on an appeal of Planning Commission approval of a request to install a wireless communication facility at 2347 Pacific Coast Highway and consideration of a statement of decision. Presented by Comm Dev Drtr Kawasaki.

  3. PARCEL MAP NO 26132
  4. Public hearing on a request to subdivide a lot and construct three detached, two story townhouses at 25913 Cypress Street. Presented by Comm Dev Drtr Kawasaki.

  6. Presentation by Scott Gobble, Region Manager, Southern California Edison, relative to issues dealing with current electric crisis.

     

     

  7. WALL ON 251ST STREET

Report submitting petition from residents of 251st Street and Neko Drive requesting a block wall at the west end of 251st Street. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

CLOSED SESSION

Conference with real property negotiator – property: 24300 Narbonne Avenue – negotiating parties: City Administrator and City Attorney and Los Angeles County Fire Department per G C Section 54956.8.

Conference with legal counsel – initiation of litigation (1) case per G C Section 54956.9(c).

Conference with labor negotiator: City Administrator: all positions per G C Section 54957.6.
