  2. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
  4. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

  5. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

  1. Approval of Demands – $178,651.90
  2. Motion to Waive Further Reading
  3. Second reading and adoption of Ordinance No 635 which amends the Municipal Code relative to the discontinuance of nonconforming uses. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  4. Report submitting request from Narbonne Gaucho Baseball team to purchase a 4’x 6’ laminated sign for $250. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

  6. Report submitting bids for commercial façade improvements at various locations. RECOMMEND BID TO FASANO ENTERPRISES FOR $73,938.28.
  7. Report requesting authorization to submit a multi-jurisdictional Collision Database and Analysis System grant application. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

PUBLIC HEARINGS

  1. COMMERCIAL MEAT CUTTING PLANTS
  2. Public hearing on a proposed ordinance which removes commercial meat cutting plants from the M-C zone. Presented by Comm Dev Dtrc Kawasaki.

  3. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO 202/ZONE VARIANCE NO 155
  4. Public hearing on an appeal of Planning Commission denial of a request to establish a preschool and day care center with less than required parking at 25833 Appian Way. Presented by Planning Assistant Patterson.

  5. CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO 199
  6. Public hearing on an appeal of Planning Commission approval of a request to install a wireless communication facility (45 foot high pole and equipment cabinets) to provide improved cell phone coverage at 2347 Pacific Coast Highway. Presented by Planning Assistant Patterson.
