3.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL

 

The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

          

4.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

 

Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time.  When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record.  In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established.  Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda.  Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

 

5.      CONSENT AGENDA

 

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below.  There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion.  Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

 

a.       Approval of Demands – $585,712.65

 

b.      Motion to Waive Further Reading

 

c.       Second reading and adoption of Ordinance No 634 which implements the Standard Urban Storm Water Mitigation Plan of the California Regional Water Quality Control Board for the Los Angeles region.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

d.      Report submitting recommendation from the Local Law Enforcement Block Grant Advisory Board to utilize grant funds for the Community Resources Deputy.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

e.       Report submitting recommendation from Traffic Safety Commission to approve installation of two “One Way” signs with arrows on Appian Way at the south line of Pacific Coast Highway.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

f.        Report submitting recommendation from Traffic Safety Commission to approve installation of 50 feet of red curb marking on 249th Street at Cypress Street.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

g.       Report submitting recommendation from Traffic Safety Commission to approve installation of red curb marking at 24644 Eshelman Avenue.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

h.       Report submitting recommendation from Traffic Safety Commission to approve installation of red curb on west side of Woodward, south of Lomita Boulevard and install PED XING symbol warning signs on the east side of Woodward at the north line of Lomita Boulevard and on the west side of the south line of 245th Street.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

i.         Report submitting recommendation that additional funds be allcoated for purchase of a replacement vehicle for the parking enforcement program.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

6.      MTA CALL FOR PROJECTS

 

Discussion of proposed projects for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority 2001 Transportation Improvement Program Call for Projects.  Presented by Asst City Adm.
