2. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
Presentation of certificate of appreciation to Lillian Fujimoto, Scott Kjos and Esther Lerner for contributing to the quality of life for students at Lomita schools.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY
COUNCIL
The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Persons
wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are
requested to do so at this time. When
addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and
address for the record. In order to
conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been
established. Amendments to Government
Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a
specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda.
Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at
this time.
5. CONSENT AGENDA
All items under the
Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted
by one motion in the form listed below.
There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the
Council votes on the motion. Specific
items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any
Councilmember or staff.

Approval
of Minutes: March 20 (3) April 3
b. Approval of Demands – $160,852.09
c. Motion to Waive Further Reading
d. Second reading and adoption of Ordinance No 622 which changes the zoning of Veterans Park, 25700 Walnut Street from Zone R1-P to O-S (Open Space). RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
e. Report submitting resolution requesting renewal of the agreement with the County of Los Angeles for general services. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
f. Report submitting resolution approving State Master Agreement an Program Supplement Agreement covering preliminary engineering, construction engineering and construction for pavement rehabilitation of Palos Verdes Drive North from Western Avenue to the east boundary. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
g. Report submitting amendment to contract with Lowney & Associates to provide supplemental geologic mapping for the Cypress Street Reservoir at a cost of $11,220. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
h. Report requesting overtime funds for bicycle patrol by Sheriff’s Department. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
i. Report requesting funds for Founders Day June 24/25. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
6. MEAT PROCESSING & INDUSTRIAL FOOD
PROCESSING BUSINESSES
Public hearing on a proposed Urgency Ordinance extending the interim ordinance adopting a temporary zoning ordinance prohibiting all new meat or re-establishing processing and/or industrial food processing businesses. Presented by City Adm O’Connor.
