2.      SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS

 

Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to Bernadette McInnis for receiving Girl Scout Gold Award and to Brendan McInnis for receiving  Eagle Scout Award.

 

Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to Patrick Chik, John Hudson, Lt. Mike Kwan, Lomita Goodtimers, Lomita Women's Club, and Lomita Recreation Department, for generous donations to city's food and toy drive

 

3.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL

 

The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

          

4.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

 

Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time.  When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record.  In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established.  Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda.  Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

 

5.      CONSENT AGENDA

 

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below.  There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion.  Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

 

a.       Approval of Demands -- $229,350.34

 

b.      Motion to Waive Further Reading

 

c.       Report submitting claim for damages submitted by Artemiza McCullough for injuries sustained by her daughter, Olivia McCullough at Lomita Park.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

6.      CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO 186

 

Public hearing on an appeal of certain conditions of Planning Commission approval to serve alcoholic beverages  in conjunction with an existing restaurant at 2087 Lomita Boulevard in zone C-G.  Presented by Assistant Planner Patterson.

 

 

SCHEDULED MATTERS

 

7.      BIKE PATH

 

Report recommending city's participation in tri-cities bike path program.  Presented by Assistant City Administrator Irwin.

 

8.      COMMISSION VACANCIES

 

Report recommending that City Council schedule a meeting time to interview candidates for openings on commissions/boards.

 

CLOSED SESSION

 

Meeting with Employee Negotiator, City Administrator,  pursuant to G C Section 54957.6 Unrepresented Employees.
