2. SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS
Presentation of checks to Friends of Lomita Library, Lomita Little League, Railroad Museum Board and Sister City Association for proceeds from Lomita 5000 Run/Walk. Presentation of certificates of appreciation to sponsors of Run/Walk.
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY
COUNCIL
The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.
4. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
Persons
wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are
requested to do so at this time. When
addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and
address for the record. In order to
conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been
established. Amendments to Government
Code Section 54950 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a
specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda.
Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at
this time.
5. CONSENT AGENDA
All items under the
Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted
by one motion in the form listed below.
There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the
Council votes on the motion. Specific
items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any
Councilmember or staff.
a. Approval of Minutes: June 21, 28 and July 6
b. Approval of Demands -- $142,193.40
c. Motion to Waive Further Reading
d. Report submitting agreement with E. Tseng & Associates for implementation of the Source Reduction & Recycling Element. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
e. Report submitting agreement with West Coast Arborists for a 6 month trial for tree trimming, planting and maintenance. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
f. Report recommending that the first meeting in September be rescheduled to September 7th due to Labor Day observation. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
g. Report relative to contract with Urban Design Studio to design park and ride lot at the northeast corner of Narbonne and 245th Streets. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
h. Report from Railroad Museum Board requesting permission to hold Golden Spike Day at the Railroad Museum on October 23rd between 10 -- 2 PM, that fees be waived for the day, 250th Street be closed and staffing provided. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
6. PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY BEAUTIFICATION
Discussion of beautification of Pacific Coast Highway to include parkway fill-in, landscaping, bus benches/receptacles, gateway monument, illuminated street name signs, repair existing infrastructure and peak hour through traffic lanes. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.
7. CONGESTION MANAGEMENT PLAN
Annual review of city activities dealing with traffic congestion as required by Government Code Section 65089. Presented by Eco Dev Coord Felix.
