2.      SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS

 

Presentation of city plaque to former City Attorney Michele Vadon, former Planning Commissioner Bruce Krause and former Community Development Advisory Boardmember Rose Bungard.

 

3.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL

 

The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

          

4.      ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

 

Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time.  When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record.  In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established.  Amendments to Government Code Section 54950 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda.  Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

 

5.      CONSENT AGENDA

 

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below.  There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion.  Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

 

a.       Approval of Minutes:  May 25 and June 7

 

b.      Approval of Demands -- $392,396.56

 

c.       Motion to Waive Further Reading

d.      Report recommending award of bid to Toyo Landscape Co. for $9,417.88 for the maintenance of the landscaped bike path on Palos Verdes Drive North and median islands on Lomita Boulevard and Palos Verdes Drive North and parking lot at Alliene and Lomita.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

e.       Report submitting agreement with Outdoor Systems, Inc to provide bus shelters on a trial basis.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

f.        Report recommending that the city participate in the Safe Streets Now program which assists in abating neighborhood nuisances and authorize payment of $7,250 for enrollment in the training.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

g.       Report recommending approval of final map for Tract No 25275, a lot split at 2106 W. 242nd Street in the A-1 zone.  RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

 

PUBLIC HEARINGS

 

6.      LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO 1

 

Public hearing on the proposed assessment for Landscape Maintenance District No. 1.  Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

 

SCHEDULED MATTERS

 

7.      RUBBISH COLLECTION

 

Discussion of hours when containers shall be placed and removed for the collection of refuse as requested by Mayor Traina.
