  2. Presentation of Certificate of Appointment to Sil Orlando, Gangs & Graffiti Committee.

    Presentation of Certificates of Appreciation to Palos Verdes on the Net, Computer Technology Center for technical support and hosting Lomita web site and to Brian Keith for volunteer hours updating and upgrading site.

  3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE CITY COUNCIL
  4. The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.

  5. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
  6. Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54954.2 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.

  7. CONSENT AGENDA

All items under the Consent Agenda are considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.

  1. Approval of Demands - $257,599.10
  2. Motion to Waive Further Reading
  3. Report from Traffic Safety Commission recommending installation of speed limit signs on Walnut Street. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.
  4. Report recommending contract with Blodgett-Baylosis Associates to update the city's environmental guidelines for $4,975. RECOMMEND APPROVAL.

e. Report recommending approval of third amendment to cable television franchise agreement for an additional extension to finalize terms of franchise renewal and submittal of ordinance granting a renewal franchise to Media One and approving a franchise agreement. RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF EXTENSION AND INTRODUCE ORDINANCE AND CALL FOR PUBLIC HEARING MARCH 1.

PUBLIC HEARING

  1. PAY PHONES
  2. Public hearing on proposed Ordinance No 601 adding Chapter 14 to Title IV of the Lomita Municipal Code regulating pay phones. Presented by City Atty Rozell.

  3. REDEVELOPMENT ON PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
  4. Public input on possible adoption of a redevelopment survey area on Pacific Coast Highway within the city limits. Presented by City Atty Rozell.

    SCHEDULED MATTERS

  5. LOMITA LITTLE LEAGUE
  6. Submittal of staff report on request from Lomita Little League to conduct an Opening Day Parade on March 13, 1999. Presented by Asst City Adm Irwin.

  7. BUS BENCHES
  8. Discussion and selection of bus benches and trash receptacles to be placed within the city. Presented by Asst City Admin Irwin.

  9. SHERIFF'S MEETING

Request from Sheriff's Department to schedule quarterly meeting.
