Presentation of city plaque to former Gangs & Graffiti Committeemember Eric White
The City Council may discuss and act upon items described under Council Comments; however, items which are not will be limited to Council reports, announcements or requests for clarification, or factual information, or to placement of matters on the agenda for a future meeting.
Persons wishing to speak to the City Council on subjects other than those scheduled are requested to do so at this time. When addressing the council, please come to the podium and give your name and address for the record. In order to conduct a timely meeting, a 5 minute time limit per person has been established. Amendments to Government Code Section 54950 prohibit the City Council from taking any action on a specific item unless
it appears on a posted agenda. Persons wishing discussion on Consent Agenda items should so state at this time.
All items under the Consent Agenda re considered by the Council to be routine and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed below. There may be separate discussion of these items prior to the time the Council votes on the motion. Specific items may be removed from the Consent Agenda at the request of any Councilmember or staff.
PUBLIC HEARING
Public hearing on proposed Ordinance No. 589 which amends the Municipal Code relating to escorts and escort services. Presented by Planner Kawasaki/ City Attorney Vadon.
SCHEDULED MATTERS
Request from residents of Sunset Gardens regarding the poultry packing plant located at 24321 Pennsylvania Avenue. Presented by Planner Kawasaki/Attorney Vadon.
Discussion of contract with Chamber of Commerce.
Discussion on status of veterans’ memorial which was formerly located at the Lomita Post Office. Presented by Interim City Administrator Irwin.
Report recommending preparation of resolution amending Resolution No 81-56, establishing a compensation plan for Administrative Assistant Charles Felix. Presented by Interim City Administrator Irwin.
Discussion of placement of security bars inside buildings in commercial zones as presented by Councilmember Blackwood.
Discussion regarding scheduling of Council workshops as requested by Mayor Hargrave.
Report recommending approval of a revocable license agreement to permit sidewalk dining within public rights of ways. Presented by Planner Kawasaki.
